New Year's Reflections

Well another year has come and gone and it's time to reflect on what was accomplished in 2012 and make plans for 2013.  I've been around awhile and if there's anything my life's experiences have taught me, it's that there's always room for improvement.

I can always point out areas that I can do better on and focus on them.

It's also good to think about how I can make a difference and help others in 2013.  Did I feed the hungry?  Did I visit the sick?  Did I give of my time to others?  I did seem to make a lot of people smile in 2012 and I gave Mommy and Daddy lots of hugs.  I didn't fight too much with my three big sisters.

It's also an opportunity to focus on and chase after what makes one happy.....

You can't just sit around and expect the world to come to you.....sometimes all you need is a little push.....

and the good life starts really swinging your way!

Wheeeeee!!!!!!!!!

Or you can just sit around and blow raspberries....

Either way, I'm going to have fun in 2013.  I'm just a kid you know?  Happy New Year!!

Suburban Cowboy

"Howdy, ma'am, would you happen to know the way to the interstate?"

"The name's Tex and I'm on my way to San Antone...."

"I'd be much obliged if you'd see fit to point me in the right direction...."

"Now, darlin'....It's best not to get involved with me...I'm a drifter and I'd just love you and leave you....probably break your heart."

"Yep, I'm as untamed as that hawk up there in the sky.....nothing's going to slow me down..."

"Well it's 'bout time I headed out.....my pickup truck's right over there.  It's a cowboy Cadillac."

"So do you know the way the interstate?"

"I just got to git to Texas!!"

"Now what got into her?  I told her not to fall for me but she couldn't help herself....I reckon they don't see many cowboys around these parts....."

Christmas Day

Christmas is finally here!  Santa Claus came!  We couldn't wait to open up all the presents that had to be waiting for us under the tree!  We just KNEW we'd been good all year and it was finally time to hit paydirt!  All that hard work trying not to be naughty was finally going to pay off....

Serena, Scarlett, and Sadie:  "Lip gloss by Loreal...."

"Lasts all day.....especially with repeated application every 10 seconds.  Hey, it tastes like berries so it's almost good enough to eat.  And we had to put it on everyone in the room....if one of us is sick, we'll all be.  It's the season of giving, you know?"

Little David:  "I'm all wrapped up and ready to open....To Mommy from David.  I just know she'll like my present to her....."

The Sickly Three

We just don't feel good.  Runny nose....heavy coughing....fever....WE'RE ALL STOPPED UP!  And it's almost Christmas!  Will Santa Claus still come to a house overrun with plague and pestilence?   Oh please come, PLEASE?!?  We promise we will wash our hands before putting your cookies and your reindeers' carrots on a plate.  It's no fair being sick on Christmas.  The doctor made us wear dragon masks to help us breathe easier.  Do you think it will work?  There's lots of presents hanging in the balance....only four more days left, we've just got to get better.  Don't skip our house, Santa, we've been oh so good and Christmas only comes once a year, you know?

O Christmas Tree

Mommy and Daddy put our tree up last week and they figured it was time to take some family pictures.  Only 14 more shopping days 'til Christmas, Daddy, you better get busy!!  We're expecting a lot of loot!

Little David:  "And this is our Christmas tree here....."

Little David:  "It's got lots of flashing lights on it....."

Little David:  "And ornaments too....and some white flowers called pointed settas."

Little David: "Mommy put this red bow on....I think it works well."

Little David:  "Come on over to our house for a piece of pie!!!"

Christmas Lights

Thanksgiving has come and gone and now it's already beginning to look a lot like Christmas.  The city is decorated and many houses full of lights outside.  Our favorite one we like to drive to is the Santa Claus house.....

Of course the FIRST rule that Daddy taught us was, "DON'T TOUCH!"  You can see how well that got through to us.  There was just way too much temptation!!!

"Boy, these lights sure get us in the Christmas spirit!  The presents!  The music!  The presents!  The cookies!  The presents!  We're sure we've been good so Santa is going to bring us LOTS and LOTS of presents!!"

Little David:  "I've tried my hardest to be good.  Can I have a present on Christmas?"

Doctors in the House

We keep saying we are going to be doctors when we grow up so Grandma came and brought each of us our very own medical jackets and doctor kits!  We immediately set to work curing Mommy, Daddy, Little David, and Grandma and cured all sorts of ailments.  It's amazing how many maladies can be cured with a shot and a bandaid.  We're so good, we don't even have to discuss the symptoms.  Trust us...we know what to do.  And we accept most medical insurance including Medicare and worker's comp.

David's Birthday Party

Now that I'm 1 year old, I think it's time I start setting some ground rules for my next term.  If there's anything my life has taught me, it's that nothing stays the same for long.  We have to keep moving forward and be progressive here......

First of all, no more naps.  Naps are cruel and unusual punishment and no kid should be forced to take one unless he just wants to.  I will veto any bill that mandates naps.

Wow, the young ladies in the back sure liked that one....

Second of all....

Birthdays won't just come once a year.....

I say once a month is more like it!

Again that one rang true with the ladies.....good.....

Third...um...third......I can't think of anything else.....

I mean, things  have been going pretty well you know?

Let's not make any rash decisions here and go crazy changing TOO much....

I mean, I have to cater to my base....don't want to forget my roots....change my identity....I am who I am.  I'm too old to change now. And.....what?  Oh yeah!!!

CAKE!!!  A DINOSAUR T-REX CAKE!!!!

That was my third proposal.....cake EVERY DAY!!!!

They loved that one too.....I guess I'll make their day and pose with my constituents.....

Now, LET'S EAT!  It's my birthday party you know?  Thanks, Mom, and Dad....
