Yosemite Camping Trip

We went camping this weekend at Yosemite National Park.  It was amazingly beautiful during the day....and really cold at night!  We slept in a tent and snuggled to keep warm.  We hiked during the day and made hamburgers and hot dogs over the fire.  And then we roasted marshmallows!

We're finally here!  Through the long tunnel and this is the view that greets you!

And what a view it is.  Look way down there and you can see the valley floor.  Our campsite was down there somewhere!

It was so cold this high up that there was still snow on the ground--the first snow the kids had ever seen.

It's cold.  And icy.  What am I supposed to do with it?

On the way back down the mountain, Scarlett spotted a bear!!!!

He looked at us and then just kept walking.....

A Day of Rest

This is what Sundays are all about for a Dad.....

Brick Robots

David:  "These are my brick robots!  There's a Mommy, Daddy, and a David robot!"

David: "That's the Daddy one there with the big head."

David:  "AUUGH!!!  They've struck again!!!  That's it!  No more naps when the girls are home!!"

David: "Just look at those beady little eyes!  Acting like they're washing the truck.  You're not fooling me!!"

Shopping Cart

David:  "Don't worry, Mom, I've already grabbed all the groceries from the four food groups."

David: "I've got the chip group, the animal cracker group, the banana group, and the tomato soup group.  We're done!"

Sleeper

David:  "I've been accosted by a bunch of girls!  Look at what they do to me when I sleeep!  I'll just have to sleep with one eye open so this doesn't happen again."
