Let's Go to the Park!

While baby David was sleeping, Daddy took us to the park!  There were swings, slides, and all sorts of things to climb on!

Scarlett:  "Wheeee!!!"

Sadie: "Wow, this is fun!"

Scarlett: "Higher, Daddy, HIGHER!!"

Sadie: "Wow, I think I'm going to fly up in the sky!!"

Scarlett:"Yeah, I'm pullin' 3Gs here!!!!"

Sadie:"Don't get tired, Daddy, keep pushing us!"

Scarlett:"Hey, Serena, this sure is fun!  Daddy's really pushing us high!!!"

Serena:"Look at those two over there.....just sticking it to me that there's only two swings and I'm left here holding the stroller."

Serena:"Just wait until I get my chance....I'll spin that thing around and around and show them...."

Serena:"WHAT?!?!  It's MY TURN???  YAY!!!"

Serena:"Serena spacecraft is go.  Pressurized first stage tanks to relief.  Hydraulic external power set to on.  Report range go for launch."

Serena:"3....2....1....."

Serena: "LIFTOFF!!!!!"

Serena:"I think I went to the moon!!!"
And then we hit the slides and the climbing bars.....we wore ourselves out!  And we think Daddy got a workout too!

Happy Thanksgiving

Today is our third Thanksgiving together as a family and it is of course baby David's 1st.  Mommy had a special Thanksgiving outfit ready for him.  Daddy smoked a turkey outside and we had mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes and homemade bread.  We washed it all down with apple pie and ice cream.  We think we put on at least 2 oz but we'll burn it off at the park tomorrow.  Daddy will for sure chasing us around.

Serena: "Check out my little brother's Thanksgiving clothes.  It features enclosed feet and sleeves...."

Serena:  "...that keep his hands and feet ALL SNUGGLY TOASTY WARM!"

Serena:  "It also comes complete with this turkey bib!  See it here?  Isn't it cute?"

Serena:  "Yep, that's my little brother....I sure do like him."

Serena: "Oh NASTY!  He just filled his diaper!  And I could feel the whole thing!"

Serena:  "Aw, that's ok, I'll bet I did the same thing to Daddy at least once."

Sadie:  "And THIS is supposed to be fun??"

Sadie: "Hey, he's muscling me out!"

Sadie:  "I don't think he's happy....I must not be doing it right."

Sadie:  "OK!  The binkie helped!  This is much better!"

Sadie:  "I think I'm getting the hang of this!"

Scarlett: "Yes I'm looking, enough with the funny faces and take the picture."

Scarlett:  "Hey, don't get upset David, I was talking to Daddy, not you."

Scarlett:  "I think I ticked him off.....what do I do now?"

Scarlett:  "Yes.....yes.  He DID?  I see....I'd be mad too."

Scarlett:  "Oh, man....boy, you've got some *serious* MILK BREATH."

Scarlett:  "But hey, you're my kid brother you know.  I can deal with it!"

Vandalized!

Man, I still can't believe the nerve of these girls that live in this place. Just thinking about it burns me up. I'm new to the joint, you know, and I'm exhausted, jetlagged even.

So I doze off and I'm a heavy sleeper and this is one of those REAL good naps where I'm out.  I mean, I'm OUT.  I thought everyone was cool here, even the chicks, but I should have known better.

I start to stir and I feel this heavy weight on my chest.....

I wake up and find that I've been vandalized.  I mean, they've got me all decked out in chains and beads like I went to Mardi Gras or something.  What is this?!?  The beads, the pimp rings on my fingers....I look ridiculous!!  Do I live with a bunch of sorority girls or something?  I'm surprised they didn't have my hand in a bucket of water.  I mean, heck, maybe they did because I woke up and my diaper was soaked.

I guess I could tell the boys it was my Mr. T starter kit but I don't think they have even heard of the guy.  I thought this "Mom" lady would have watched out for me.  She's the one that was there when I came into this new world of bright lights, loud noises, and screaming girls.

But that's ok.  Just wait until she gets a load of this atomic diaper I've ripened up for her.  It's one of those with a little fallout.  Actually a lot of it.  Yeah.  Enjoy that one.  We're even.

Sister Scarlett

The girls are fascinated with baby David, particularly Scarlett.  On his first day home, the girls all gathered around to watch him eat, but it was Scarlett who took charge and insisted on feeding him.  When I see all the girls gathered around him touching, poking, and pushing on him, I can only imagine what the poor guy will go through when they all get a little older.  Serena and Scarlett will probably try to dress him up, paint his nails, etc. while Sadie looks on laughing.

Baby David Comes Home

Today Baby David came home.  He didn't seem to care too much one way or another, just as long as the food kept coming and the diaper stayed clean.  Even all the poking and prodding and screams from his three older sisters didn't phase him too much.  The girls were very excited to see him, particularly Scarlett.  She insisted on feeding him and fought off the other two to stake her claim on HER baby brother.  She just kept smiling and saying, "Baby!  Baby David! Shao David!! ("Shao" means "little" in Mandarin).  Serena and Sadie were more interested in his swing and the camera than anything else but they'll come around.  I think they're just happy Mommy is home.

Sadie:  "Wow, look at the little guy....he's in a car seat like we used to have."
Serena:  "I don't think I was ever that small...."
Scarlett:  "Blue on blue.  Fashion fauxpas.  His hat and outfit....."

Serena: "He looks pretty comfortable in there..."
Sadie:  "Look at his feet...they look like little monkeys.  That's not good..."
Scarlett:  "They're part of his outfit...it's supposed to be cute."

Serena:  "Do you think I shoud fix his hat?  It looks kind of crooked."
Sadie:  "The feet....it's creeping me out."
Scarlett:  "I think he looks just fine....he's my baby brother, you know."

Serena: "Sadie, stop obsessing with his feet!"
Sadie:  "I mean, they're monkeys and they're furry.  Are you sure they're part of his clothes and aren't his real feet?"
Scarlett:  "I see what you mean...I wouldn't wear them but they are just clothes, you know."
