Christmas Day is finally here! Last night on Christmas Eve, we opened presents from family. We were so excited to finally see what was in those packages that had been shoved under the tree a couple of weeks ago. Mommy and Daddy sat and ate dinner first and made us wait so long we thought we wouldn't make it! Daddy passed out the presents....
Serena: "Wow! PRESENTS!"
Scarlett: "The big one is mine! Gimme! Gimme!"
Sadie: "Oooooo! Whose is that one?"
Finally, we opened them and we got lots of neat stuff including some toys, clothes, and books. Grandma and Grandpa made us each a wooden dog toy that we can pull around when we get bigger. Mommy got a huge blanket that can keep all of us warm.
Serena: "What's this? CLOTHES?!?!? Where's the toys???"
Sadie: "Umm, excuse me....Is that all there is for me?"
Despite all the fun we were having, Mommy told us it was time for bed or Santa Claus wouldn't come to our house. While visions of previous terror of a big man in a red suit flashed into our minds, Mommy was insistent that he would bring us something good. She helped us bribe the old man by putting milk and cookies on the table along with a couple of carrots for Rudolph and the other reindeer. So off we went to bed and we fell fast asleep.
And then.......Christmas morning! We came downstairs and noticed that the cookies and milk were all gone! And there were crumbs left on the plate! Even a few scraps of carrots were still there. I guess when you have so many houses to cover you can't stop and really enjoy the snacks. Santa wrote each of us a letter and gave us our most favorite thing in the whole world. BINKIES! Winnie the Pooh binkies, to be exact. Boy oh boy, that man in the red suit isn't so bad after all. He also gave us a rubber ducky so we have something to play with when we take a bath. This was our best Christmas EVER!
Scarlett: "Santa Claus came! Santa Claus came!"

Christmas is almost here!!!
Christmas is coming and the girls are so happy they can hardly contain themselves. They love looking at the tree and all the lights and shiny decorations. Mommy keeps telling them Santa is watching so they have to be good if they're going to get any presents. Sometimes I think they forget but for the most part they're pretty good!
Serena was all wiggly.......

Bath Time
Every other day Mommy gives us a bath. As long as the water is nice and warm we don't mind too much, but if it's cold, we don't like it one bit! We sit in our pink bath tub and our rubber ducky is always close by. Mommy washes our tummy, legs, arms, hands, feet.....no place is safe from her prying washcloth-equipped hands. After we get dried off, she puts lotion all over us, a new diaper, and we smell all fresh and clean!
Serena: "DAD! Can we get a little privacy, please!?!?"
Scarlett: "I NEVER shy away from a camera!"
Sadie: "Here, Mom, you forgot this foot!"

Pictures with Santa
Mommy and Daddy keep saying Christmas is right around the corner and that we have to be good so that Santa will come to our house. We aren't sure who that is or why we'd want him to come over but they keep insisting it's a good thing. Last night there was a knock on the door and a big man in a red suit, long white beard, and a red hat came walking in saying, "Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!" He sat us on his lap and asked each of us what we wanted for Christmas. A new binkie, a Hello Kitty blanket, a teddy bear, and music CDs came to mind but we froze. We simply clammed up and couldn't say anything....this big guy in a red suit....all the "Ho-Ho-Ho-ing" .....it was enough to terrify any little girl. Hopefully Mommy and Daddy told him the things we'd like otherwise we may not get anything!
Sadie: "Ummm.....Mom? Who in the world is this???"
Scarlett: "Whoever he is, I'm warm!"
Serena: "If I hold REAL still maybe he won't know I'm here."
Serena: "HE'S GOT ME!!!! Scarlett, Sadie, Mommy, Daddy, SAVE YOURSELVES! I'M A GONNER!"
Then Mom and Dad came over and we thought that maybe this guy was all right after all.

Thanksgiving Turkey Day!
Today is Thanksgiving Day and Mommy and Daddy were really busy making lots of food. Dad smoked a turkey outside and we had mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes with marshmallows on top, and wheat rolls. They finished it up with pumpkin pie and ice cream. Of course all of that got rolled into one heck of a good tasting cocktail in Mom's milk. We almost ate as much as Mommy and Daddy did! All of that eating made us really happy and we smiled regularly for the first time.
Serena was all wiggly and happy as Daddy took these pics....
Later in the evening we helped Mommy and Daddy put up the Christmas tree. We weren't sure what that was but apparently big people bring a tree in the house, stand it up, put lots of flashing lights on it, and hang all sorts of shiny things on it. We hadn't seen anything like it before. Mommy put a red hat on Sadie and Scarlett but Serena didn't want to wear it. We played along and tried the best we could to help out. Scarlett was fascinated and couldn't stop staring at the Christmas tree.
Sadie was so tired from helping that she fell asleep in her pink thermals and Winnie the Pooh socks. It's hard work putting up ornaments and decorations! We think we'll let Mommy take them all down some day by herself.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Sit ups
Sadie is really getting strong--she's able to hold her head up now and keep it there. Her sisters are close behind but we just snapped a pic of her today. You can see her chubby cheeks and big eyes as she steadies herself. They just keep growing!

Three Peas in a Pod
Today we went to the park again but it was a little bit chilly outside so we kept it short. When we got home, we put the babies in their warm sleeper clothes and they were beat from the LONG 3 mile drive and 30 minutes of trying to pose.
This next week is our first Thanksgiving together. The four day weekend will be a nice rest and we'll definitely get to spend a lot of time together.

Professional Photo Shoot
Last weekend the girls went in for their first photo shoot. It was quite an adventure, let me tell you. Three wiggly babies all crying at random times, cranky, cold, hot, hungry, tired, pretty much everything wrong the whole time. Scarlett posed for the camera without any problems at all just as she has done for us in the past. She seems to love taking pictures. Meanwhile, the photographer would wait for us to shove a binkie into Serena and Sadie, wait for a few seconds for them to calm down, and yank the binkies out while he snapped pictures furiously for the three seconds they were shocked at the sudden removal of said binkie before they lost it again. In these photoshoots you are under a time limit where the photographer will take as many pictures as he can in 30 minutes and with as many poses as you can squeeze in. Knowing that few would be perfect, we were in a huge hurry to get a lot of pics done in the short time in the hopes that at least a handfull would turn out. We were a wreck by the time it was done......Mom, Dad, and the girls. They were really quiet the whole way home as they crashed as soon as we left the place. By the time we were ready to unload them, this was the scene in the back seat. Scarlett had somehow blindfolded herself along the way while Serena and Sadie were sleeping, trusted binkie where it's supposed to be.
Eye Appointment
Last week Serena went in for an eye exam. The doctor put drops in her eyes (which she loved......NOT) to dialate the pupil so he could examine her optic nerve. We quickly found out that her eyelids are functioning quite well and that they are *strong*. It was almost impossible to hold the things open so that the doc could peer in. Dad finally had to step up and hold a pair of strategically placed q-tips to gently pry the eyelids open so he could take a quick peek. All was well and he sent her home with strict instructions to stay out of direct light and he "accessorized" her. Represent.

Our First Day Outside
Today was our first day to go outside. Mommy kept saying something about going out to get fresh air and some sun......we weren't sure what that was but we guessed it was that blinding light that shines in our face out of nowhere when Daddy brings us downstairs in the morning. Before we left, Mommy changed us into our strawberry outfits and put a ribbon on our heads.

Sadie

We got out of our car seats and took a few family pictures. The sun felt really good on our faces and the fresh air was wonderful. We hardly cried at all because there were way too many things to see and we were way too busy checking them all out.
We then piled on Mommy as we sat back in the shade.....
We were so tired that we slept for the long 2 mile trip home. We even slept past our dinner time because we were so tired from posing and trying to look our best. No wonder those supermodels are all so skinny......it takes so much energy to look good and by the time you're finished, you too tired to eat!

Then we were packed up and went to the park. Daddy unloaded us and snapped our car seats into this long frame and pushed us around in this long train. We didn't stand out too much.....just looked perfectly ordinary.

Doctor Visit and Our First Shots
Yesterday we got packed up in the car seats to head to the doctor for a checkup and our first vaccinations.
We don't like being tied down in these torture chairs and we were sure to let Dad know about it.
Serena cried hysterically from the time she sat down until just as we pulled into the parking lot.
Scarlett complained at first but with binkie along for the ride she was ok.....
Sadie was let out a random smile just as Dad was taking a picture as she strained and pushed trying to get comfortable.
The doctor looked us over and said we sure looked healthy. Our weights were right on track for babies our age: Serena was 7lbs 12oz; Scarlett 7lbs 6oz; and Sadie 8lbs 2oz. After that we were in for a real treat as the doctor brought in our vaccines. We didn't know what they were but we quickly learned that we don't like them AT ALL. It was more torture all over again as they seemingly stuck us repeatedly (even though it was only twice) and it HURT. We "calmly" expressed our dislike for it to all present but it didn't seem to do any good. Finally we were packed back in our car seats for the ride home.
Exhausted, we all collapsed and slept all the way home. Hopefully we won't go back there for awhile.....
